Updates (Again)
Hello, my dearest readers, it’s good to address you once again. This time I have come bearing news of a change to how things will be handled going forward.
First things first, the blog is now transitioning to the main website. No longer will it be sitting on its own sub-domain, but rather it will be joining up with the main landing page. Originally, they were split for more technical reasons, but I ended up changing things (a long while ago, too) and now they can be merged onto the same sub-domain. This just makes managing things a little bit easier whenever the server hosting this goes down and breaks things, which happens a bit more often than I would like.
The second thing is that I am no longer using Jekyll for the blog. It’s a lovely project, don’t get me wrong, it’s just not quite what I want to use. I’ve shifted over 11ty, which offers a nice feature set while still being slim enough to accomplish what I want out of it. Basically, the whole site is now a few templates and some markdown files to fill it out. It’s much easier to extend and maintain it without worry.
Third and final thing, if you currently read my blog via RSS feed or have ever linked to a blog post, please take a moment to update that. For the readers, the new feed can be found here. For those who have linked, please navigate to the blog archive to find the new links to the posts. The current sub-domain will stop receiving updates but will be accessible until the end of 2025. Please make sure things are sorted out before then.
Thank you for your support, even if its just reading my silly blog posts.
